The Farm

Rooted in the Bluegrass

Six Winters Farm sits on 330 acres of private Kentucky farmland at 5613 Mt. Horeb Pike, Lexington, KY — just six miles from the Kentucky Horse Park and easily accessible via I-75 and I-64. The property has been shaped by the rhythms of horses and seasons for generations, and today stands as one of the region's premier sport horse facilities.

The farm's name has a story of its own. Founded in the early 1990s by the Allen family, the name comes from their time in Cleveland, Ohio — a period they fondly recall as "six very long, cold, snowy winters." When they finally settled in the warmth of Kentucky's Bluegrass, they brought with them a deep background in thoroughbred breeding and sport horse showing, and a vision for a facility that would set a new standard for equine care.

The farm is managed full-time by the Allen family. Amy Allen oversees seasonal sport horse boarding, while Ashley Allen leads the pasture board and retirement programs — ensuring every horse receives individualized attention from people who truly understand the demands of competition and the importance of a proper transition to retirement.
